Welcome members of MPL to my first ever segment, of any kind really, of Fact or Fiction. I’m a relatively new member of MPL was the Bengals in season 9 and this season ill be manning the Saints in season 10.

Well with season 9 in the books, everybody seems to be in high sprits entering season 10. But before we get into season 10, lets look back at season 9 highlights. Wade, with Peyton and company, won the MPL Bowl over Ethan’s Steelers, despite not liking this years Madden. There were some surprises as well, then rookie, Readywhenever completed a perfect 12-0 regular season before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champ Colts in the Atlantic Conference Final. Not sure but think it was a MPL first that a rookie went undefeated in the regular season. Also MPL parted ways with the OPL (PS2) and moved to NG. With the end of season 9 came the NIT tourney that concluded with Trusion’s Browns just trouncing my Bengals in the NIT Final. There is also another tourney going on with season 10 teams facing off.

Now lets begin with fact or fiction. This is a segment where you can be yourself and tell it like it is. Remember don’t hold back and that this is just some good clean fun. So get ready for FACT OR FICTION!!!

Please welcome to this weeks segment:

1.   Wade will repeat as champ this season with his favorite team the Dolphins.

SportzFanatic31 -  Fiction. Even though he has the talent to do it, he wont be able to with the Dolphins. He’s going from an amazing offense in Indianapolis to a down right awful offense in Miami. Also there are a lot of new talented owners in MPL and it’s going to be tougher to repeat.

Ethan -  FICTION. Wade will not repeat as the champ this season. He will be contending, I don't think there's any question about that, but he won't win it all. He will be battle-tested though considering that division he's in. I know Tami's a baller and should make some noise with those Bills. SCTrojan was a great player on the PS2, so if he can make the transition easy onto next-gen, he'll be a threat as well. Flawless55? I don't know the guy's game, but you've got to assume anyone with the Patsies can win. In the end though, he just doesn't enjoy the game and as a result, doesn't play it often. That may have worked last season with the Colts, but it's not going to work with the Dolphins.

Tate -  Fiction. I think there will be no repeats in the MPL this year. That's not a knock on Wade, I just think the league always has so much up and coming talent.

2.  The Pacific West will be the toughest division this season.

SportzFanatic31 -  Fact. From top to bottom this division has talent. Readywhenever has proven that he has the ability to run the table and comes in with an explosive Rams offense. Sully has also proven that he can run the table and should be able to bring pride back into the red and gold. Nvrquit is a proven veteran who has a very talented team in Seattle. And in Arizona you have Trusion who is most people’s favorite for rookie of the year. This division is the toughest to predict who will win it and each game will be a well-fought battle.

Ethan -  FICTION. Why? Because that's the shoe-in, that's the obvious, but let's propose an alternative. Everyone's proclaiming Trusion to be a great player and a rookie-of-the-year candidate...but what if he can't get into a groove with those Cards? Sully made some noise last season...but he had the Ravens. Whether the 9ers are his favorite team or not, they're not the Ravens. Will he be that competitive with a worse team? Nvrquit's got a good Seahawks team and he's one of the fixtures in the MPL, but how often has he made the playoffs in the past? Ready fought admirably during his undefeated rookie regular season, but he collapsed against Wade in the playoffs. Will he be nearly as good with a less-skilled Rams team? That's not to take anything away from any of those guys, but it is reasonable to suggest that it may NOT be the most competitive in the league. Now let's look at the Pacific East; surprise surprise, my division. I'm going to roll with the Eagles; I'll say that right now. Superpunk struggled with the Titans a bit last season, but he seems to have a firm understanding of the way the game works (play smart football...win), and a *curses* good team backing him up. Kevmack nearly made the playoffs with a bum 9ers squad last season and now has a much better Skins squad, while OG Style Sucka has the edge on most of us in age but can still ball with the best of em. At least that's the word on the street and again, let's not forget that he has the Giants. I think what you have in the Pacific East is a division which indisputably has better teams than the West and, perhaps, has better coaches as well. Time will tell, but don't sleep on the East.

Tate -  AFC North will be the toughest division.

3.   There is a post about early postseason predictions and after reviewing them, it’s the Dolphins in the Atlantic and the Cardinals in the Pacific who have garnered the most votes. Season 10 MPL Bowl will be the Dolphins vs. the Cardinals.

SportzFanatic31 -  Fiction. As stated in my first answer, wade doesn’t have enough talent in the Dolphins to make it all the way. And as far as the Cardinals go, I don’t see Trusion having enough talent in his team to make it all the way either. Both of those owners have the talent to go all the way, but with these teams they have no shot what so ever.

Ethan -  FICTION. I called it at the beginning of the year last season and I'm going to do it again this season. The Season 10 MPL Bowl will feature Tami's Bills vs. Ethan's Eagles.

Tate -  That's a tuff one. Fiction. I think in this game it's more about the coordinator behind the team than the team it self.

4.   Only two of last season’s rookies made it into the playoffs in season 9. This season more rookies will make the playoffs then last season.

SportzFanatic31 -  Fact, being a rookie this season myself forces me to agree. There are a lot more rookies this season then there were last season, do the math and you’ll figure out that this season’s rookie class has a better chance then they did.

Ethan -  FACT. That's probably safe to say, considering there's going to be a lot of new blood this season. It seems to be the majority opinion that Trusion is a lock to make the playoffs, so there's your one. How about the rest? It looks to me like there's a rookie in every division this season outside of the Atlantic South and the Pacific East. You've gotta believe that at least two of the rest will make postseason play.

Tate -  I would say it will be about the same. I think the MPL has a learning curve that newbies have to adjust too.

Random/Non MPL Questions

5.   Super bowl 42 will be Jaguars vs. Packers.

SportzFanatic31 -  Fiction, neither of those teams will make it that far. Jaguars have a bright future, but they’re not all the way there yet. The packers have just had a fluke season, don’t get me wrong, the defense has been playing great, but the offense shouldn’t be playing as good as it has.

Ethan -  FICTION. Super bowl 42 will be Colts vs. Cowboys. The Patriots will lose to the Jaguars in the divisional round, but the Jaguars fall to the Colts in the conference championship. In the NFC, the Packers take care of Seattle in the divisional round but lose to Dallas in the Conference Championship. Indy wins their second title in as many seasons.

Tate -  Superbowl will be the Cowboys verses the Jags, if TO doesn't play this weekend I will throw the Giants in there. Because a healthy T.O keeps you from putting 8 in the box to stop the run.

6.   Pepsi® is better than Coke®.

SportzFanatic31 -  Fiction, after drinking Pepsi all throughout my childhood because my father is a Pepsi freak, Pepsi has become old to me and has lost its flair.

Ethan -  Fact, While the brand name colas are each disgusting in my opinion, Pepsi puts out better products than Coke. Two words: Mountain Dew.

Tate -  Fiction. Pepsi is a girly man's drink. Coke has bite.
